SSHOC at Events

An opportunity to learn about novel policy and best practice around use and re-use of scientific data within the heritage science and archaeology contexts in this half-day webinar jointly organised by SSHOC, SEADDA and E-RIHS. Running live on Thursday 2^nd April, from 12.00 to 16:30 CEST, we will present the new heritage science data curation policy developed by E-RIHS and SEADDA, discuss practice challenges and share best tools to support on data re-use. 

tThis SSHOC webinar, taking place on April 16 2020, will provide researchers with tools and workflows to combine the quantitative, data-driven and algorithmic analysis of text with qualitative inspection, hermeneutic approaches and interpretation. 

The SSHOC Training Community will have its first kick-off call on Thursday 19th of March 2020 at 15:30 CET. Community members stay up-to-date on SSHOC training activities and get a sneak preview of new training materials, like the Training toolkit that is currently under development. Through the SSHOC Training Communty you can also stay informed about SSHOC events and webinars and receive support in organizing your own training activities.

The SSH Open Marketplace has been in development  for over a year now. A preference for the agile approach and UX best practice means we’ve involved end users as much as possible up to this point via workshops, interviews, brainstorming sessions and prioritisation meetings.

When we release the alpha version in June 2020, we’ll want yet more user feedback and engagement. And that's what this workshop is about.  We've arranged a two hour slot during the proceedings of the ICTeSSH 2020 Conference (now to be held online).

Within Croatia’s presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2020, Rijeka, one of the largest cities in the country, will proudly take on the title of the European Capital of Culture 2020. In this unique framework, the University of Rijeka has the honor to host and organize a conference entitled "The Role of Cultural Heritage in Socio-Economic Development and Preservation of Democratic Values - HERItage" The conference is organized in collaboration with the Croatian Ministry of Science and Education and is financed through Horizon 2020: Europe in a changing world – inclusive, innovative and reflective societies. 

Given the rapid developments over the last week, we hereby cancel the EURISE workshop.

We regret the circumstances, but feel that a cancellation at this point in time is the only sensible option.

We will re-evaluate possibilities to try again at a much later date, but can of course not give any timelines yet.

ETHMIGSURVEYDATA is headed to Brussels on 9-10 March 2020 for its next COST Action meeting and 2nd Annual Policy Dialogue Conference! This 2-day event will be hosted at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) office in Brussels. Session spotlight: SSHOC (Social Sciences and Humanities Open Cloud) training session – “Caring for Sharing: Data Management and FAIRness of Migration Data”

SSHOC (Task 5.2) is developing a data repository service for SSH institutions. The new service is built upon the Dataverse software and will be adjusted to the needs of the European research infrastructures.

The event is intended for staff of interested Service Providers from CESSDA. Participation is in principal by invitation only. 

The 2020 edition of the CLARIN Annual Conference will be organised as an online event. This year’s edition has been designed to attract a wider audience and get the most out of the innovative options that come with a virtual format, so be prepared for a different experience!
