SSHOC Announces New 2026 Leadership

We are pleased to announce that SSHOC’s activities in 2026 will be led by newly elected Sally Chambers (from DARIAH ERIC - Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities) as Chair, and Vania Virgili (from E-RIHS ERIC - European Research Infrastructure for Heritage Science) as Vice-Chair. This decision was taken by the SSHOC Governing Board during their meeting on 27 November 2025.

Science Clusters Position statement on operational commitment to EOSC and Open Research

The ESFRI Science Clusters, operating as a cluster of clusters in projects like OSCARS and EVERSE, have released the Science Clusters Position Statement on operational commitment to EOSC and Open Research, which articulates the Science Clusters’ vision for the future towards the successful implementation of the EOSC, as the result of five years of collaborative efforts, including interactions with the European Commission, EOSC Association, ESFRI-EOSC task force, and e-Infrastructure Reflection Group (e-IRG).

OSCARS project funded to foster the uptake of Open Science in Europe

To maintain the high-momentum achieved in these past years on FAIR data management and connecting research communities from all scientific domains to the EOSC, all Science Clusters are working together in the Horizon Europe OSCARS project, which has been granted ~25M EUR funding in the framework of the European Commission Horizon Europe call HORIZON-INFRA-2023-EOSC-01-01, under grant agreement no. 101129751.

Strengthening Cross-Cluster Collaboration: Highlights from the 2nd SSH Open Cluster Assembly

On October 16th, the virtual stage was set for the 2nd SSH Open Cluster Assembly. This gathering was dedicated to welcoming new Cluster members, reporting from external bodies in which  SSHOC Cluster is represented, and discussing the future cross-cluster collaboration. Guided by the Chair Toma Tasovac from DARIAH and vice-Chair Bonnie Wolff Boenisch from CESSDA, the Assembly emphasised the paramount significance of collaboration not only within SSHOC but also in the broader research landscape.
