Two separate strategy plans document the framework for engagement and training activities within the SSHOC project. Both are briefly reviewed in this article. 

The first in a series of SSH Open Marketplace consultations with individual user communities took place in July. Eliza Papaki from DARIAH (Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities) provided a report back on the event.

Today, 20 July 2020, the EOSC Executive Board has published an open consultation on the EOSC Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA). The consultation, which closes on 31st of August 2020, asks for the input of EOSC communities and beyond in setting out the future vision of the European Open Science Cloud.

The proceedings from the LR4SSHOC workshop, planned to take place during the 12th edition of the Language Resources and Evaluation Conference (LREC2020) on 11 May in Marseille, and postponed due to the global COVID-19 crisis, have been published and are available for download.

The webinar Quanlify with Ease: Combining quantitative and qualitative corpus analysis offered a solution to the challenges inherent in validating studies on large-scale corpora. Key learning points from the event are presented here. 

The webinar Tools and Resources for FAIR Data organised by SSHOC and delivered by Anca Vlad (UK Data Service) on 18  May  2020 offered an overview of FAIR principles and the tools and resources available to researchers looking to prepare their data in adherence with FAIR guidelines. This article summarises the information presented.

The Alpha version of the SSH Open Marketplace, a discovery portal which integrates services and software, datasets, training materials, and workflows for use by research communities in the social sciences and humanities, launches today 30 June in a dedicated session at the annual ICTeSSH Conference.

On 2 June 2020, SSHOC held the first in what will be a series of SSHOC Training Community mini bootcamps. The aim was to introduce the Training Toolkit to data professionals and trainers from all over Europe and gauge their reactions.
