In this workshop, we discussed the European legal framework for data privacy and processing personal data (General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR). The workshop helped participants understand how their research is affected by the GDPR and what issues to pay attention to.

With approximately 281 million people, or 3.6 % of the world’s population, currently living outside their country of birth, migration policies need to be based on reliable and impartial evidence. As the leading Consortium of European Social Science Data Archives, CESSDA™ offers a wealth of resources for researchers, enabling them to use and re-use datasets and define their data management plan.

SSHOC 6th Consortium meeting will be held on the 5th and 6th of October 2021.

Researchers and Service Providers Discuss Social Scientific Data Management Tools CESSDA DC™ and CESSDA DMEG™

Join us on 30 September, 14.00-16.00 CEST! In a world beset by challenges, from the COVID-19 pandemic to climate change, the social sciences have never been more important for impartial, evidence-based research and analysis.

The CLARIN Annual Conference is the main annual event for those working on the construction and operation of CLARIN across Europe, as well as for representatives of the communities of use in the humanities, and social sciences. The 2020 edition took place virtually. In 2021 we hope to be able to -at least partially- return to the traditional format, for which in 2021 Madrid would be the venue.  The event will be prepared  by CLARIN ERIC,  in collaboration with LINHD -Digital Humanities Innovation Labies Innovation Lab- and UNED -National Distance Education University of Spain.

Training researchers who want to access confidential, legally controlled data in data protection and statistical disclosure is a key part of ensuring the safe use of these data and an important task for secure data facility professionals. But developing suitable training materials can be resource intensive.

The Ethnic and Migrant Minority (EMM) Survey Registry — co-created by COST Action 16111-ETHMIGSURVEYDATA, the H2020 SSHOC project, and the ANR FAIRETHMIGQUANT project — is a free online tool for discovering and learning about existing quantitative surveys undertaken with EMM (sub)populations in Europe and beyond.
