We are happy to announce that the ERICs have elected the Chair and Vice-Chair to lead the SSH Open Cluster in the year of 2023!

The new Chair is Dr Toma Tasovac, the President of the DARIAH ERIC Board of Directors, and he will work together with the new Vice-Chair Dr Bonnie Wolff-Boenisch, the Director of CESSDA ERIC.

The EOSC Symposium is the main EOSC annual event and this year takes place in Prague, Czech Republic, from 14th-17th November 2022.

This call for proposals belongs to a series of ‘RDA open calls’ supporting a European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) that satisfies the FAIR data and resource management needs of Europe’s research communities. Applications are open until 15 September 2022, 16.00 CEST, via the EOSC Future Grants Platform.

Launched on 11 July, a new call will support a network of experts in integrating their disciplinary know-how and community achievements within EOSC. Applicants can submit their proposal until 15 September 2022, 16.00 CET via the EOSC Future Grants Platform.

From January 2019 to April 2022 SSHOC transformed the current social sciences & humanities data landscape with its disciplinary silos and separate facilities into an integrated, cloud-based network of interconnected data infrastructures. 

The final conference programme was designed to showcase the results achieved, lever on the valuable synergies built and learn about user stories from the community. There was also time to reflect on policy & sustainability issues and look towards the future. 

The SSHOC’n Tell Challenge was a hackathon run parallel to SSHOC’s final conference, Advancing SSH Research with SSHOCingly good and sustainable resources, with the aim of getting users to test out SSHOC tools and create compelling real-user stories. The challenge resulted in a total of 6 user stories.

An exciting new training tool has been released by the SSHOC project, teaching researchers about Data Publication and Research Data Management through a simple and fun video game called the League of Data: Data Management Challenge.
