SSHOCingly good and sustainable tools

This report is a shortened version that contains the second part of the SSHOC legacy booklet, showcasing the tools, resources and plug & play communities produced by the SSHOC project, through their dedicated factsheets. We start this section with the SSH Open Marketplace, and continue with the factsheets per category: Sharing & Discovery, Data Management, Processing & Analysis, Datasets, Training & Support

SSHOC Legacy booklet

The social sciences and humanities (SSH) encompasses researchers with roots in very diverse domains and methodological frameworks, from heritage researchers documenting work with 3D digital objects to interdisciplinary social researchers seeking new modes to analyse existing sources, to name but a few. In the digital age, new insights and ground-breaking research increasingly relies on powerful, tailored tools and environments for research within and across disciplines.

SSHOC Exploitation Plan

This Exploitation Plan gives an overview of the joint and multiple individual exploitation paths aimed at increasing the impact of all the Key Exploitable Results developed during the SSHOC project lifetime (from January 2019 to April 2022). The Plan is aligned with the contractual obligations defined in articles 28 and 29 of the SSHOC Grant Agreement (No. 823782).

D6.8 Report on training materials

The goal of task 6.3 “Empowering Users: Training Materials and Online Learning Paths” was primarily to provide an overview and to collect existing training materials in the area of Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH), as well as to support the creation of training materials within the SSHOC project. The task of inventorising was summarized in a previous deliverable D6.7 Inventory of training materials1.

D6.12 Report on the SSHOC train-the-trainer bootcamps

Training is an important aspect of knowledge acquisition and transfer in the Social Sciences and Humanities Open Cloud project (SSHOC). For successful implementation and promotion of the SSH Open Cloud, it is crucial to empower users, and to facilitate mutual learning and networking among data producers, users, and experts. Therefore, the SSHOC Training Community has been established.

D6.5 Report on Stakeholder Series events

The SSHOC stakeholder series aimed to showcase the progress and achievements of the projects and engage with a wider range of SSHOC stakeholders and other European initiatives; to promote the uptake of SSHOC tools, services, and shared data, equip producers, users, and experts with relevant skills and capabilities, and support the collaboration with other initiatives. The events in the series were designed to be cross-stakeholder to maximise the outreach and to foster the dialog and collaboration between SSHOC stakeholders.

D5.20 Training materials of workshop for secure data facility professionals

Social science and humanities research infrastructures allow the sharing and safe use of confidential data for research. In recent years there has been a shift towards virtual data enclaves or Remote Access or Remote Desktop systems that offer fewer physical controls. They need to be replaced with other safeguards, including often mandatory training. This training aims to ensure that researchers are equipped with the knowledge required to use secure/legally controlled data safely.

Monthly Call - SSH Training Community - May

18 May 2021

"Checklists for the planning process and timelines for online events AND privacy-compliant configurations for online meetingsare the topic of this month's informal call between members of the SSH Training Community.

The meeting takes place online on 18 May at 14:00 CET and the speakers are Tanya Yankelevich (LIBER) and Veronika Keck (GESIS) and Ricarda Braukmann (DANS).

Combined SSHOC Training Community Call & Community of Practice of training coordinators

13 April 2021

The CoP is an informal pan-European network for training coordinators in research and e-infrastructures, EOSC-related initiatives and projects. (https://www.openaire.eu/cop-training). The SSHOC training community is a community of trainers active in the Social Sciences and Humanities exchanging good training practices whereas the CoP is more a community of coordinators in training. Of course there is an overlap of activities and people in both communities.
